Meet “Ivella”……man oh man isn’t she hot to trot with her dark and dusky finish? This pretty little number belongs to my client Ashley who inherited it from her grandmother. This armoire has always been loved, but there was not a plan for her until now!
“Ivella” will no longer be wasting away in storage….but instead she will be strutting her stuff in her newly remodeled and fabulous home!
Amen….and Amen.

GIVEAWAY WINNER: The fabulous Thomas Paul plates are going home with Anne! I think it is very fitting that her name was drawn…..here is her comment:

“Annesaid…
Okay, do count me in! (You know how to make an admirer go from lurking to commenting!) ;)”

If you did not win these plates and you really would like to have some for your home I have two more sets available! Email me: barb@knackstudios.com .

 Meet “Kammer”. This little beauty came from Charlotte, NC for me to makeover and make new. My client had purchased it a few years ago at a flea market, and while the light blue patina on the dresser worked for a while, it was time for a refresher in order to fit into the new space designed for this piece. When turquoise was the color of choice I knew little miss would be a winner when completed.
I took a little bit of liberty and added pink knobs for the photo shoot since the original knobs are staying on the piece……but …you know…..I just had to…..it’s what I do.
{P.S. the super fly “hooray” banner was made by my sister, and you can check out more of her work in her etsy shop……cranny}

I am super excited about the beautiful piece of furniture I have for you today! Meet “Aurelie” …….french for “golden”.  I am so into pink and gold lately….I can’t get enough of this color combination. I am also really into triangles and geographic shapes…..you will see much more of this in the days to come {wink!}
Enjoy her glittery goodness!

Meet “Cleridae”. Her name comes from a species name of the chequered beetle family and goes right along with the amazing wood and brass beetle knobs that complete her design plan. I have been waiting for the perfect piece to put these amazing knobs on, and this navy desk won! Woo Hoo!
 I am loving the color navy lately, and this is the first of many pieces in this beautiful color.  I love, love, love this piece….it is rich, classy and timeless…..seriously, I will have a hard time letting go of her.
“Cleridae” is in the etsy shop, and available for purchase! I don’t think she will be around long, {I may decide to keep her!} so if you want her….get her!

Found Goodness

The two pieces of furniture that I have been working on this week….making repairs, stripping, sanding…..the works…..have been two of the craziest pieces full of found goodness I have seen in a while! I have never seen so many scissors, rubber bands, nail files, rollers, pencils, costume jewelry, perfume…..etc!
This photo is what I saw when I opened the top drawer of the desk….and when I dumped it out it was amazing what I found. Then I opened up the bottom drawer and discovered that the previous owner had an obsession with scissors and the such.
I am working on getting a photograph of all the  goodness I found….I want to lay it all out in groupings….you all will laugh your fannies off.
Job love.

FYI

It has been  good to get back into the studio today and get my hands dirty. I have been putting things back in their places, loading my car up with goodies I brought from home for photo shoots, defrosting my fridge that got left open {oopsie!}, and repairing my saweet studio couch that got damaged during photo shoot moving.
I love the studio couch so much, and it will never leave the studio because of its broken little leg that got it here in the first place….but I will repair it…and repair it….until it cannot be repaired anymore…..and then I’ll cut the legs off and use books or something else to prop it up on.
couch love.

  Here are a few crazily cropped shots from the last photo shoot…. so I don’t give too much way…but I hope that you can see a little glimpse of the goodness that has transpired! I have over 30 completed pieces lined up, wrapped in plastic, and stacked to the ceiling in the studio. Each one is different, unique, and ready to party when the book comes out! I can’t wait to reveal the book collection, and hope you all love it as much as I do.
This week however, I will be starting on 5 new pieces that I CAN show you! Woot! I will have a furniture introduction post up next Monday! I hope to appease those of you who are “mad” at me for the lack of furniture posts! {wink!} Believe you me there was a lot of furniture going on in the studio, more than I have ever completed at one time before……but all good things are worth the wait right?! Nod and shake your head “yes” here……
