hope over fear

Screen shot 2015-02-04 at 9.20.24 AMThere are times in life where fear can make us feel desperate and hopeless. We grasp for control, which we think is security and freedom, only to find that it brings a cage of bondage and despair.

Hope is a powerful thing, and wills the mind to overcome adversity. When you talk to your soul, what are you telling yourself? Are the thoughts of fear, inability and insecurity winning? Or, are you propelling yourself forward with thoughts of courage and hope?

Turn fears and disappointments into opportunity for good….and set your mind on this: hope over fear.

it’s about the process

As much as we love to see a finished product gleaming afresh before our eyes, the magic of a project lies truly in the process.  It’s important to look back to remember the journey and the things learned there.  We’re pulling back the curtain on the last couple of weeks to show you three simple photos taken in process.

In life, as well as in projects, there are often lessons and treasures in the in-between parts. Remember to slow down, step back, and rejoice in the unfinished.

FrogTape project :: green & gold

Our latest FrogTape project has got us swooning over gold leaf all over again.  You know how gold and geometry are our jam? Well, throw in a little army green and you’ve got one knockout little cedar chest.

How strange it is when one year turns into another.  A years end is loud, bright, fast – the holidays, the gatherings, one day melting into another until you can’t even remember what day it is.  And then, stillness.  A new year brings with it a sense of calm, a slowing.  It’s no different for us here at Knack.

2014 ended in a flurry.  We are so grateful for a year so full of projects, joy, change, and challenges.  What a year it was.  In 2015, we will build on the bricks of last year, creating and hustling and stepping back to enjoy the fruits of our labor along the way.  We are so excited for the things to come in this new year.

merry christmas :: 2014

PicMonkey Collage2014 was a year of incredible opportunity, leaps of faith, stretching growth, saying no, saying yes, pondering, intentional direction, and focusing on joy. I am thankful for each and every moment given to me this past year, for all of you who continue to befriend and support me here, and for the many, many blessings this life brings.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
