my porch…….

happy monday friends…..I know I told you that I would have the nursery pictures up today ….and they were all ready to go ...BUT then …they got some special attention {more later in the week!} …so I will have to wait to post them until Thursday. I’m sorry for the change in plans……..

….in the meantime, I had a little fun with my back porch this weekend! I moved things around …planted some succulents…..made use of some old bottles laying around…….oh and let’s not forget the tissue pom poms! YES….I made them after all of your encouragement……..I know some of you will laugh your fannies off at this….but they were hard…and they’re not supposed to be!! I made eight in four hours and two of which I had to throw away because they didn’t turn out……..CRAZY!! I do think I have the hang of it now though, and am excited about making more….hopefully I’ll get faster:) xoxo

Lovely. I'm going to try to make the pompoms from used plastic bags. I wonder if it will work.
A small question about the bottles with the candles: Is there a reason they are in the paper bags, other than it being pretty and interesting.

    What a lovely porch!!

I have been wanting an excuse to make those pompoms for a while – they are so pretty!! I have a friend's 30th birthday party coming up soon and have offered to help decorate so I think the venue is going to be adorned with these. If you have any tips for how to make them look as good as yours have turned out then I would love to hear them x

awww…thanks friends so much for loving my porch and my pom poms! All of you are welcome to come hang out anytime! I would love it…in fact I look forward to it! πŸ™‚

As far as tips on the poms…..the key is to get your folds really crisp and tight and then VERY carefully peeling back the layers ….starting in the middle. If you don't get your folds tight it makes your ball too loose and real flimsy. Hope that makes sense:)

mia….I have seen these done with recycled bags…they are awesome…….I was thinking of trying them too….:)

maria …these would look great in a nursery…I'm planning a baby shower now and will be giving some to my friend for her nursery!:)

Dave……you are welcome to use whatever photos you would like…thank you so much1

    Hugs to all…..xoxo

your very cheery and summery porch reminded me of a friends where we had many fun times … cool on hot days … warm enough on cool days … and an awesome place to watch storms roll by. the candles in particular reminded me of sitting out there late at night by candlelight … very nice ~
