Matt Moreau was the guest artist in our gallery for October and I just fell in love with one of his screen prints depicting the story of Jacob and Esau. Two brothers whose lifelong struggles together began in the womb. If you look closely at this picture you can see the two heads and the arms wrapped around each other in forgiveness when they were men……. but at the same time it is also a picture of them in the womb where the struggle began. Also at the bottom of the picture coming to the middle in the dark green is a symbol of a dove for the peace they found with each other later in life! I just love the thought and design greatness of all of the work Matt represented, but I hope to own this particular print someday soon:)

I like these!! It’s me, your fan from Oklahoma Ü
I have a question for you, I am trying to paint my hutch using some of your techniques from a previous post (it’s a lot like the black and grey hutches) I’m not even NEARLY as good as you, though!!. I have painted it mustard yellow on the outside and I would like to paint a different color inside the glass or use some fun wallpaper. Do you have any suggestions for paint color to go with mustard or do you know where I could find some GOOD wallpaper?? I have been on the hunt for quite some time and have had no luck!! A picture of my hutch is on my blog jansenandholly.blogspot.com. Thank you so much!!!!

Hey miss Holly!! I’m headed over to your blog to see your piece when I’m done here:) The first color that popped into my head was gray!! OF COURSE!! You know what is crazy though ….. I did a mustard piece a few weeks ago and the paper that I lined the drawers with was a pink and black mod toile!! It was the coolest combo!! I’m thinking about doing it again!

As far as wallpaper goes I’m struggling there myself, but I did just order a few sale rolls from ferm living ….. they have amazing papers! I will let you know when I find something good:) You don’t happen to have an Allen Funk wallpaper store anywhere near there do you?
