Can you give some advice on rehabbing old furniture? Is it better to remove old chipped veneer entirely, or fill around it with something then paint over it all? What kind of paint is best, and how do you apply it? Thanks so much, your pieces are always beautiful!!

OK ….. these pieces may get sprayed, but if I do them by hand I’ll do a tutorial…. how’s that? I will do a tutorial in general when I can get it together:)

to answer your questions…. depending on how bad the veneer is chipped, you can sometimes either patch it with wood filler or use a belt sander to sand through it and make that area smooth. I personally always use latex paints or milk paints and apply with a sherwin williams contractor series paint brush, or foam roller. Most of my pieces are a satin finish, but lately I have done a few smooth semi gloss pieces, and that has been a fun diversion:)
